Will they ever change In God We Trust that is on money, coins. They are taking God out of everything, how long do you think it will be before they take it off of our money?

I sure hope not. This God offends me crap is getting old and real quick. Deal with it you stupid fucks. If you don't like something don't pay attention to it. If I can live in harmony with other religions why can't these other people.

I propose a bill that constitutes no more stupid complaining. Lets worry about things that actually affect people in a very very major way and not something like this. :2cents:

I doubt that the term is leaving anytime soon (if ever). There is no relion being promoted.

But there is a God that it promotes. They are already working on getting it removed. It use to bother me when these fanatics would complain about us pushing God down their throats and how offensive it is that they have to see Christian scenes during the holiday season. It doesn't bother me as much anymore. If it happens it happens and being angry about it isn't helping in the least. If atheist want to completely remove any traces of God from America then they are welcome to do it.
It won't change how I conduct my life other than I may talk about God a lot more. We will continue to go to Church and serve our God. We will continue to try and live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God and we will continue to be confident in our Savior.

It promotes no certain God. People who are offended should get lives.

"In God we trust" came about during the founding fathers time! It does promote a God! Our country was founded over religous freedom and we can find examples throught the government about god. Everytime a new session is called into order in congress a priest gives a prayer. I am not saying its wrong but if the federal government wants it removed form our local govenment buildings our schools then it shouldn't be allowed in the federal government! It should be allowed here and at the federal level.

Now when you say you believe in god are you saying a certain god?

I know that it was meant to promote that God, but as it is, on the coins it doesn't say "In the God of the Jews, and Christians, we trust" So you can believe it to be any God you want it to be.
Honestly, if you're worried about what's on your coins, other than the ammounts they're worth, you have too little to worry about.

I don't know about the coins I never have any in my pocket to check. But I do agree with you its not what is written but what its worth that matters.

Their is a certain god it does promote it is implied by our founding fathers. Do I have a problem with in no way. Do I sit here and read my coins or bills, I only look at the number on it in the corners of the bills.

If I were to be in charge of this damn country here would be the base rules and it would solve all our problems:

1.) This country was founded on Christian beliefs... don't like it? get the fuck out

2.) This country is an ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY... don't like it? get the fuck out

3.) Just because racism was used against you doesn't mean you have the right to do it back and still have the audacity to ask for more respect... dont like it? get the fuck out

4.) If you're old enough to commit an adult crime, you're old enough to serve time as an adult? don't like it? shut the fuck up, get in jail or get the fuck out

5.) Any well-run country requires tax money... don't like it? get the fuck out

6.) Just get the fuck out :banghead:

Ok no. 6 is sarcasm but the rest still stand.

EH! Leave the Queen out of this. :nono:

:grinno: Actually, what you fellas are talking about has in fact been floating around Canada with regards to the Queen. Everybody is so concerned with changing our Nations roots to fit the times. I think its a shame - just as I think its a shame if people seriously want to take "In God We Trust" off of US bank notes, coins, etc... I for one think its part of what makes America unique, and I like seeing that difference when I look at a US bank note.

Because Canada is so multi-cultural and no longer a part of the British Commonwealth, there are those who feel Her Majesty's grace should be removed from all coins, notes, courtrooms, government buildings, etc... Fuck that. Just because our nation is now so cosmopolitan doesn't mean we should disregard its history to accomodate people who may not appreciate it. I'm not sorry if it offends people - British culture was a major influence on this Nation. Deal with it. If you have such an objection to the mere image of the Queen that you CANNOT enjoy the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Human Rights Act, Employment Standards Act, and the thousands of other liberties that some people in the world can only dream of - then goodbye. Hope you find a place where you can live with yourself.

Same thing goes for America. "In God We Trust" was part of the zeal by which your Founding Father's forged a Nation. Who has a problem with that? People who don't believe in God? - tough shit. If you were around back then you could object. I think people forget how good they have it living here. Try telling the Chinese government to remove all of Mao's public picture's because he was a brutal man and is setting a bad example for your kids. You'd be hand gesturing the remainder of your personal convictions from then on.

Where will political correctness end? Peope who don't believe in god or "God" take offence with the phrase being recognized as US history, maybe people who are not white will bitch about the Founding Father's themselves for not being multi-ethnic - what would you think about that? Better tarp up, paint, or level Mt. Rushmore and make new bills again because some people out there simply cannot drink their morning coffee in the center of the free world knowing that their homes stand where they do because four white dudes put their faith in their God hundreds of years ago.

Choke on it - and like I said, I hope you find a place where you can live with yourself. Please send me a postcard, and be sure to tell all the other people who have a problem with the way these countries were founded.

We talk about rights and what everyone's entitled to - you know what, the only people who have legitimate reason to voice are the Native aboriginals, because America was their nation first. We are all born or come into this society with our wants and needs, and we can leave anytime we like. The Natives had God and the King kick down their front door. Its not like "In God We Trust" is being shoved down your throat. Think about that next time.

If you think people should leave, because you don't agree with them - then you're the one who should leave the U.S. not them! The United states was founded on religous tolerance!!! That means you can have any religion you want, and anybody who says you can't is consititionally, wrong headed.
That's why we had Quakers, Hutterites, Amish, Shakers, Puritains, Jews, and everything else. Sure, with the exception of the Jews, they all do believe in Jesus, but they're certainly not "christians" by today's modern meaning. And lastly, why did you even have to drag this into an argument about pocket change? seriously folks...
It's still stands that if this is a serious issue for you, you really do need to get a life. One way or another, it doesn't bother me, for all I care it could say that we trust in Pizza and have a picture of John Elway on it, to me it doesn't matter, so long as it's still worth what it says it's worth.

I think there is a point when political correctness by a few crazed lunatics will be recognized as BS and our country will become more aware of the shithole it is going into. At that point, there will be more recognition of God and country.

Ok... I got a little carried away. This is just a touchy subject for me. I don't really mean leave the country... I'm just sick of people acting like babies over things that are adult subjects. Whatever happened to tolerance (not religious or any other just tolerance)... Why can't people just deal with shit anymore? I mean all this is, is a publicity stunt for individuals to try to get their names written down in a book. I wasn't saying you can't have your own religion, I'm just saying that we were FOUNDED on certain beliefs and that won't be changed.

I will stand by my belief that you should speak English if you're to be an American. If I were to move to Mexico I'd have to learn Spanish if I were to work in a Wendy's there, so learn to speak my language BEFORE you integrate yourself in our culture, and please, PLEASE, teach your children English as their first language... I can't stand seeing Hispanic parents who speak English and their children that don't... it's so irritating.

So if say... someone took your LeCar and painted it flaming hot pink and wrote 'HOMO' in big purple letters all over it, that wouldn't matter because it's, 'just a car, whats on it doesn't matter it still gets the job done!'

Ditto, I see that shit a lot around here. My neighbor is doing it too and it pisses me off. Cute little kid, too bad it'll be behind in school though because it can't speak a word of english. They just speak spanish to her. Whenever I walk into the DMV I see signs in spanish, that means I'm paying tax money to print those signs, not to mention, WTF are you doing in the DMV if you can't read english? They haven't started marking road signs in spanish, (yet). The last couple of job Apps. Ive seen in the past ask if you can speak spanish, they say it doesn't matter if you do, but someone who does speak it would get the job before you would. It really annoys me, my grandparents didn't know ANY English when they started school as kids, but they sure learned quick! You either learned English, or you dug ditches the rest of your life. They learned English...

Are you equating "In God We Trust" with Homos? :screwy:
If it were perhaps "Homobile" it might just be funny enough that I wouldn't be able to get angry over it.
Maybe our change should have different quotes on it, depending on what they're worth. Pennies could be "Go To Hell" Quarters could read "I Hope You Die" and $100 bills would be marked "For Rich People Only" or "Do Not Eat" :icon16:
