turbo and ls/vtec?

my question is would it be a good idea to turbo an ls/vtec? i have to replace my head, so im thinking ls/vtec. but a turbo just feel into my lap. now my money i had saved up for the vtec might have to be used for the turbo setup. but the vtec can come later. or would it just be a good idea to do some serious upgrade to the turbo? thnx
