it is almost the same as the first one excpet it has 170 hroses and i don't know how much torque. my friend has one and i liked it alot. i kno it comes with a hydro tranny but if you don't have a hydro sell that tranny and buy a cable and you are straight

Please tell them that SEAN sent u if u buy a motor!

The B16A is a very reliable motor. Has a large aftermarket and tons of potential. It's a great motor for the Civic enthusiast on a budget.

i just dont know if i want that old of a engine. i mean the 2nd gen series is old, even though this motor has 0 miles on it.

hold on...

The B16A came out as B16a1 in the 88-91 CRXs. Cable tranny, non-OBD. And the one in the old JDM Tegs.

Then, there's the second gen. B16A. That's the one I talked about. Came in the JDM 92-95 CIvic SiRs. OBDI hydro tranny

Then there is the B16A found in the del Sol VTEC which is OBD1 and OBDII. Depending on the year u buy.

Then, there's the B16A found in the 99-00 Civic Si. OBDII hydro.

Which are you talking about?

What car is the motor going into?

i am talking about the 92-95, but the one that i really want is the 99-00 SI (J-spec) version.

Why do you want one of those? OBDII isn't the greatest....

i was originally planning on a GSR swap but then i decided that i wanted to keep it a civic. the car that i have is a 96' HX (manual) with Greddy EVO exhaust, AEM CAI, and HP Racing headers. i am rollin' on some 17" Smith's Twisters, but that is going to change to the SI rims( look good and way a hell of a lot less)

Oh ok...the 99-00 Si motor is best, either that or the JDM 96-00 SiR/Ferio Si motor (B16A2)

www.redime.com Get the ODBII(2) hydro transmission B16A. $2700 shipped! And..please tell them that Sean sent u!!

they're reliable... but less torque... so t/c is good with it, as always.

Less torque than what? a 5l V8? yes. A 2l i6? yes. a 1600 SOHC D series? NO!

For a little 4cly the B16a is an amazingly torquey engine, and what it lacks in peak torque compared to larger engines it makes up for in having a very flat and very useable torque curve.
