Tires for '02 325xi

Hello --- just joined the forum and have been browsing --- seems excellent and informative -- I am hoping for some cool feedback!
We just ordered a '02 325xi (Euro-delivery) --- most excited! I was wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade the tire size --- I got the Sport Package but although the wheel size increases to 17", the tire size remains 205-50-17 --- (I would have liked the 225-45-17 that comes with the regular SP -- but I guess BMW thinks you will use the car in snow so they left the all-season tires on) --- so to make a long story short --- here's the question:
Can I fit 225-45-17's on the 17 x 7.0 wheels that come with the xi SP and if so --- which tires do you recommend? (I have looked into the Dunlop SP9000's and the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 -- not looking to break the bank).
