Hmm interesting race. I dunno why the EVO owner raced from a roll, considering that he would kill that Spec V from a dig badly. That Spec V is pretty quick. Even though the dyno numbers you posted for his car are relatively low, that car is alot lighter then an EVO (I believe my car is quoted as weighing 3260 pounds, not light for a 4 banger).

tell me about it my mule weighs in at 3085
AWD = really heavy
lots of crappy shifting going on in that video but as long as they were all equally crappy its ok right?

that spec v was pretty quick. definitly. well i guess even a small shot like a 75 shot definitly does do something after all.

A 75 shot on that motor is kinda large IMO. I don't know how strong the internals are on a Spec V though. I know one thing though. I won't buy nitrous again anytime soon. Most mechanics don't wanna touch a car that has nitrous on it (Not that the Z28 had problems, cause it really didn't have any, except for that ticking noise from piston slap- no oil consumption though). Brodie I couldn't agree more, AWD weighs down a car alot.

hey i know you've done more research about evo's then me, so maybe you can save me the headache of looking it up and tell me what they're running in the 1/4? i know what the mags say but they're always way off ESPECIALLY with awd cars.. i ask because this dork with an EVO ran a 13.7 and everyone thinks he's a really good driver (cause of the mags) but im running a 14.0-14.2 and i have 50 less ponies and a crap load of drivetrain loss seems like the EVO should be a 13.2-13.4 range

i just wanna say that that grand prix GT and the saab were the slowest cars ever. it said the saab passed the GT at 90-95 mph. the race started at 2:18 and the saab passed the pontiac at 2:45. it can't possibly take those cars 27 seconds to reach 90 mph.

Typically the car can run a 13.1 in the most favorable conditions w/ a great driver. A 13.4 sec. 1/4 mile is somewhat common w/ skilled drivers. It all depends on your 60' man. I learned that by going to the track w/ my former camaro. For every tenth shaved off your 60' time you can shave roughly 2 tenths of a sec. off of your 1/4 mile (i.e. with my former camaro I was cutting a 2.4 sec. 60' often :( That would give me a 14.1 sec. 1/4 mile at 1260' elevation track. When I cut a 2.3 sec. 60' I got a 13.9 sec. 1/4 mile pass). With the EVO if you are cutting a 1.8 sec. 60' you should feel pretty happy. Of course everything depends on track prep and weather conditions. What was his 60' time? I saw an STi owner that only cut a 13.9 sec. 1/4 mile. He had a 2.0 sec. 60' at Speedway.

not sure what his 60' time was didnt really care im just tired of him thinking he's the new hotness when hes pulling a 13.7 cause he read in a mag that it gets 13.6 so he MUST be the heat... thanx dude

Most of the EVO's I've seen run at the strip, and there are a quite few hundred running around Auckland alone, pull mid to high 13's with only exhaust and pod filter. Up the boost and they sneak into the high 12's. This is for the EVO I, II, III's. I've seen a bog standard EVO IV only do high 14's.

There isn't too many V's-VII's running around here yet due to the price being out of reach for most people who would own them.

i heard the EVO VI could pull a 12.9 from the showroom floor... ever seen one of those run???

BTW i wish i could go the the track and see those kinds of cars running...

if they can and do run low 13's, a really good driver, on a really ideal day could probably pull a 12, but it's not the norm, that's for sure
