03 civic lx tranny swap..possible?..HOW?

Does anyone know if its possible to swap an auto to a 5-spd for a 03 civic lx......I go the car as a grad present last year and the only prob is that its auto....I want it in 5-spd....also does anyone know how to reprogram the ecu so that the restrictor dont kick in....I get up to 114 then it just slows....thanks!

If your gunna swap the trans to a five speed you better have quite a bit of cash to lay down for it. I have a 02 civic automatic and im just having it rebuild with performance clutches and that alone is going to be around 2500. As far as the ecu just get an aftermarket one and that should take care of that.

You will be spending a ton of cash to swap. I would just sell the car and buy a manual in your case. If you had say a 95 civic, it might be a different story, but your car is only 1 year old. It would be better to sell and buy a manual.

ummmm.....I just went to the dealership yesterday and they said it'll cost me about 5k to do the swap minus the labor......but when I went to a junk yard they said it'll cost bout 1.5k to swap it.......so I guess I'll just keep it the way it is for now.......thanks...........and does anyone know what kind of ecu would be best and will it void my warranty????
