quick tranny question

I purchased my Max in Aug of last year and I havent gotten a tranny tune up yet (I know , I know stupid me) but when I call to inquire at a Transmission Repair shop, they told me that all I can do is change the drain plug and the filter but there is nothing else that I can do. I was concerned because the car idles hard from time to time and the rpm's go up to about 3 and drop back down when I give it a little gas. Am I worrying for nothing or should I be concerned?

i would def. be worried, it sounds like your tranny is slipping in 1st gear. did you tell the guys at the tranny shop that? cause if you did and they said that all they can do is change the plug and filter, then thats not the place to bring your car.

i found that Lee Miles or AAMCO shops are quite reliable (all be it a little pricey... but when it comes to trannys, who isnt)
