Well this is one of the 'redo' kits I got from Jdmhotrod that was already painted. So i decided to have a little fun. I sanded and used styrene to widen the body and make a front lip. First attempt at a kit. And after doing some reasearch I realized this looks like a VERY poor rendition of hiroboy's thusfar. I apologize for my crappy attempt at plagerism but this will definetly be my creation.

now for suggestions...colors scheme?

I want to paint the car 2 colors and the interior another with the rims staying chrome.

Nice! Maybe some two tone paint scheme would be nice!
Maybe orange for top and silver for lower body!

here's some progress...sorry so slow. I have to say that I'm pleased with the difference in using Mr. Mark Softer for the decals (from Revell ITR) from whence I used just soapy water, but it's still not as mirror smooth as I'd like. It conformed to the surface nicely, but the decal itself still seams to have some intrinsic 'ruffness'. Oh well. Like always, I chucked the original color/rim scheme. I'm opting for some custom-deep dish xs tuning rims in black and a wing I have left over from my c5-r

i likes it. if you wax over the decals the "roughness" goes away. just make sure they have really "set up".

So will using "turtle" wax make the decals smooth? And should I apply it any differently? I also assume you mean let it sit for like a week when you say "set up"

Also for Jdmhotrod: yep this is the same one you sold me for $3 bucks. It has been a lot bigger of a hasstle to get it to look the way I wanted but it's ok (LOTS' of sanding).

Well sorry so slow, but here's some progress. I've done the front half of the interior. The rear end/speaker set up has just been started. I still have alot to go, but this pick below shows my basic vision. I plan on adding some speaker wire to the 'alpine' amp. I'll have some body picks too...I've finished the suspension and added the wing

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/109320DSC00984-med.JPG

I know the holes for the speakers are a little too big, but no worries, I'll be using some putty to fill it in (besides I'm flocking it anyway)
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/109320DSC00982-med.JPG

p.s. first attempt at using quick type epoxy and I'm not liking it...it just won't stiff up..after about 4 hours, still like putty and I can't sand it

you did not mix well...still some white and yellow patches...and minimum time for it to dry is 6 hours depend on the temperature of your country....singapore is a very hot place....so sometimes we can do sanding immediately after 6 hours...
