Triton 1/4 time

hi there.
Ive got a 90 mitsu triton (my first car). Its got a 2.6l 4cyl and is totally stock as. Me and my cousin tried the 1/4 with a stop watch and he recorded 17 sec. Is this a good figure? I cant really find much info on utes and 1/4 times. Also i dont have a tacho which limits me in how hard i can go. Is it worth installing a tacho? thanks for ur help

That's not a good 1/4 mile! For a stock family/econo car sure it's decent...

I would agree with Alex, as for the tach, only if you have a stick or reallty plan on racing. If not, don't bother.

well it is a stock ute after all. and its done 491,000kms on the clock... i just wanted to see if it had any balls, im thinking of putting the turbo version 4g54 engine that came with the mitsu starions when this engine dies

I wouldnt waste my time or money with the turbo.
