97 Antenna

Ok I got a 97 EX with the motorized antenna, but when I bought the car, it never worked. I've had the car for about 6 months and I'm sick of looking at it always being out. The reason I wanna fix it is because I NEVER use the radio. Since I bought the car I've used an alpine cd changer in my trunk and have never had to actually use the tuner on the stereo. But what my question is, is that I don't know how I can either A: locate it and fix it, or B: rip out the antenna completely. I just need some help finding the motor for it or something, and how I would go about fixing it. Thanks...

I say rip out the antenna and shave the hole that is left. Is yours a four door?, b/c I have a 97 civic too and mine is not powered.

I have a 98 coupe, and never even saw an option for a power antenna. Yes, it's an ex too.

well hmm maybe if you tried to like either grease up the antennae with some WD-40 and twist it down cuz mine was a lil stuck when i first got my civic. if not you could always just get some heavy snips and cut the antenna off. lol

lol STFU you fucking idiot, I'm not here to cause any problems you prick. And for your information, I'm not the only one who can't put it back in. My uncle who could probably demolish you, couldn't even get it in, so go back to your mom's tit and stop blowing hot air.

chiiiiiiilllll sparky, and go get the WD-40. my 96 HB, as well as most hondas of that period, have a non-powered retractable antenna. mine's up by the drivers door, and wouldn't have any spot for a motor anyway.
if you don't want to shave it, go get yourself a Universal antenna (http://www.crutchfield.com), and use that. There are even ones out there that are rubber duckies or cell-phone lookalikes, and while i can't say much for their reception- it's an option from shaving.
