Second row seat is jammed

I was trying to put the middle row seat in with diminishing light and three small children running around behind me when somehow the seat slipped. Now the back contacts are locked but the front ones aren't even in so the entire seat will tip back easily. I've tried pulling and pushing on the release handle but I can't get the thing to budge at all. The lock/unlock button will lock and unlock but the seat won't let go of the base. Any suggestions?
