Is there any tricks that the book does not tell you ? I am replacing the timing and balance shaft belts as well. It don't look to hard. Just wondering from people who have done it. I ordered the special tool from chrysler for the tensioner. So how many cus words are required for installation :icon16:

It is a 92 awd tsi . Kinda helps to know that don't it.

As long as your belt hasn't broken it's really pretty straight forward. There are timing marks on all of the pulleys, so it is just a matter of having them all line up with the belt on and the tensioner set.
I never had the tensioning tool, so it should be easier for you to get that right than it was for me. I will say though, when it comes to the tensioner, make sure you've got the clearance within spec. I personally go for the minimum clearance, and rotate the crank around twice after initially setting the tensioner before you check the clearance. It's worth the extra time and patience it takes to get it just right.
