Distributor help?

I have an 88 CRX Si and I'm trying to figure out what distributors will fit on it. I've been offered a 89 hf distributor, and one off a 2.0 Prelude. Can anyone help me out?

get the one for ur car, it will run alot better.it might retard ur timing.hope that helps.

As long as the HF has the same ECU it will be ok. pm8 i believe? not totally sure.

no it wont.I have a 91 crx hf and the place that i got it from at first gave me one for a 89 hf.that shit was retarding my timing.the car shut off once and awhile.so jus find one for an si

Why dont you just buy a MSD cap and a MSD Coil then you dont have to worry about your coil you spend like half of what a new distributor cost. it's like $45 for the cap and like $25 for the blaster

hf and si dizzys are the same. take a look at the reluctor wheels, both are stamped pm6. i myself have not encountered timing issues between the 2 dizzys.

Correct. You can also look at the serial number... as long as the TD numbers match up, it'll work.

By the way to anyone doing the D15B VTEC swap... the PO8 ECU and the P28 ECU use the same distributor.

CRX 91 looks like your the odd man out. Anything to say?
From the rest of you it sounds likr your sayin go with the 89 hf distributor, if it matches... or just get the parts. That right?

yeah.try the hf dizzy, then tell us how it works out.im no honda tech but look at ur dizzy when u take it off and look at the pins and see if they match up.maybe im wrng.oh well.:smile:

The lil problem is I haven't gotten the hf dizzy, and my car is on the other side of the state. I'm at college right now, and want to get this taken care of over spring break. It'd help alot if I could just look at it. For now I have to get my dad to do everything... he know's domestic cars, but this is new to him. So the offer on the Dizzy was $50 shipped. Think it's worth it?

pinning is the same on si and hf dizzys. the only difference from the 2 i have been told is the hf coil is a bit weaker than the si? im not positive on this but both dizzys are pinned the same, both will work on mpfi 88-91 vehicles.
So the offer on the Dizzy was $50 shipped. Think it's worth it? worth it if its working, most dizzys go on ebay for 100+ if i still had spares id seel u one for 50 :P
