Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum membership, but have read the threads often. I was curious if it would be worth converting a mirage 4-door in to a lancer evo 6. The other night, i was talking about it with my older brother and he said I would have to salvage parts from an Eclipse. I knew that already, but I was wondering how much it would cost all together.
BASICALLY, WOULD IT BE AROUND $20000-$25000?????????
Thanks for any help...

Mount powertrain/brakes/suspension from Eclipse - 3000+(labor,parts)
225/40/18 OZ Superturismo/tires - 2000 pkg
Evo VI body kit w/ trunk - 1500
Recaro's front 2 - 1800
Momo wheel - 500
upgrade engine, bigger turbo, rods, cams, front intercool, port head- 4700
upgrade stance, bigger brakes, coilovers,pads,-3500
Thats standard fare :@22,000
then consider "start up parts" belts, alternator, fluids, clutch, ect" -1050
if Mirage is not ES you need dash with tachometer- 250
if Mirage is auto, pedal assembly and manual console- 700
Mirage may need transmission tunnel carved out for driveshaft- 1200 custom
Mirage may need cusom length axles- custom set/4 -1000
professional paint 2500
LANCER badge, EvoVI sticker, other adornments- 100
thats up to 25,300.
If your insurance has to look at the car's condition(mine did) and if they know anything about mods, your in trouble
the prices Ive listed all come from different shops. I, myself had wanted to do this, but when I saw the price, my CRX was enough. This is less than the cost of real Evo VI, not by much, and if you mod the engine, you should make the real car's 280 hp.

Thanks for your thoughts and great estimations DIEGOACCORD! I figured it would be about that much since I did some addittion myself. Man, that would be great if I could have a Lancer EVO VI one day (never really liked the VII, not the same thrilling appearance). I guess i'm going to have to settle for a RX7, which is in no way a bad thing.

A Ro-Turd huh...?
Don't get me wrong there cool and all, wouldn't mind havin one, just don't like fff.fffff.....fffff..f..f..f..f..f.fFord. Arn't they still built by fff....fffff....ffffff.....fffffff....ffford. The 94-97 were the best ones, twin turbo and all(I think), but something about that ffff...fffff.....fffff...fff...fff..ffford, raises hairs on my neck.

Thought they were built by Mazda. Or maybe you know something I don't.

It is built by Mazda....anyway, i think it is an amazing car. My future plans, years from now, are to keep it stock on the outside (probably carbon fiber lip, headlight conversion, maybe a wing) and try to fix it up.
