ok... Im still in high school and i just got my first car two days ago. Its a 99 Civic SI. I've been looking at imports and various installs and stuff for like 2 years now but its something totally different when u acctually get the car infront of u. One of the things im interested in is putting neons under the seats. Everyones telling me to "tap into" another wire, exactly how do u do that? And also a bounce of people told me to go straight to the battery. How would u do that? and which is better? Ive seen many posts about installing neons and other similar stuff but nothing seems to help me get it done. Remember im a complete newbie with NO experience at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

number one rule of thumb when installing any neons etc----- you must NOT be able to see the tube!!!! make sure the tubes are hiddin from view

If you are planning to do any other modifications to the car, go ahead and either download or pick up some sort of service manual. Most will explain in detail how to disassemble and reassemble most anything, and give you extensive wiring diagrams that will answer your question above (as well as many others).

For under the seats it would be best to go directly to the battery with a switch in the circuit to turn them on/off when you please. Here's a cute pic of the basics, routing the wires is up to you.
