i have a rebuilt 92 teg with auto tranny... i am thinking on building a gsr/b16 hybrid (poor mans type r) this with a gsr mt tranny...

now this is the deal i am putting ctr cams and pistons, 4-1 header, spoon IM, dont know which computer..was thinking of a p72 (ITR), lude injectors, msd with nology wires and ground wire kit. light weight flywheel

should i use b16, ls or gsr tranny? ls or gsr puel pump?i am trying to stay jdm...am i missing anything

what could i do to loose weight don't mind taking interior out...might put 4 racing seats

I have a B16A so can tell you first-hand the B16 transmission gearing is very short. For your particular application I would choose a transmission with taller gears such as the LS or GSR. I believe the LS gears are taller than the GSR. The GSR's gearing is designed more for faster acceleration from a dead stop, but the powerband should last longer with the LS gearing.

As for the fuel pump, if you're building a GSR block, then I would just use the GSR pump. I don't think there's really a difference between the GSR and LS pumps from the factory, although I could be wrong.

Don't listen to this bullshit.

LS tranny sucks unless you are trying to get good, high, cruising speeds on the highway, the B16/GSR/ITR trannys are ALWAYS faster, and very capable of going much faster than the law will let and will get to speed faster. They are NOT too short. The logic of this is...vtecs make power where? Up high, so why in gods name would you want a tranny that got there slower, that is fucking retarded.

The two best trannies are the JDM ITR, or a GSR with a LSD. The ITR will be faster due o the shorter final drive, but the GSR is a great geared tranny, fast in the front and still has a nice top end.

And don't forget, the GSR tranny has dual synchros in 1st and 2nd, or was that 3rd too? and the ITR has dual synchros in every gear.
