2.8 swap to a 350 5.7

hey guys...i got a 82 Camaro its got a 173 2.8L v6 i wanna swap it out wit a 5.7 350...can u tell me what im gunna need to change...like everything im gunna need ...thanx alot ---titan

A new transmission, rear end, too much to list, sell the car and buy one that has a 350 already. 82's are dogs.

listen...this is a project i want, now i have talked to alot of people an a 2.8 swap to a crate 350 is not that difficult...how ever there are alot of things that needed to be swaped as well if u dont wanna help me by sayin wut will have 2 be switched dont post thanx

it's a fairly simple swap, but it's not cheap either, unless you have a complete donor car to swap everything from. The V6 transmission will not bolt up, you'll need motor mounts, the V8 radiator, stronger V8 coil springs, the ECM and wiring if fuel injected, etc. among other things. Like vettemaan said, the best way--labor and cost wise--is to buy a 350 equipped Camaro, but if it's something you want to do, I say go for it, it's a hell of a project. :smokin:

you might want to try and find a yard car and swap parts, or atleast see what is different (asuming youre not trying to get everything new)...

well, i dunno for sure, but im prettysure the rear ends are the same, so i dont think you gotta worry bout that. far as the rest, you dont have to worry about computers, or wiring harnesses, sensors all that shit, so it should be pretty strait forward. the only things that i think you should pay special attention to, are the mounts for everything, engine, trans, accessories, make sure it all line up and shit, if you good with tools, you good to go.
