i'm in the process of buying a 98 Range 4.6 HSE. It looks as if it is in alsmost perfect condition. The exterior is almost perfect except for one ding and the interior is near perfect also. I am gunna have a Land Rover Specialist check it out before i buy it but i guess i was also wondering how long are they suppose to last? it has about 93K miles on it and just had its 90K check.

they will last a long time but make sure all the services have been done to it. I've seen them go as far as 200,000 miles without and major motor repairs.

My '96 HSE has about 148k on the clock and no major engine trouble so far. I've had it since 68K. The EAS is another story, though. Replacing it with springs increased the reliability of the vehicle 100%. Keeping up with the scheduled maintenance is always a good idea, but my neighbor's 95 SE has close to 180k worth of hard abuse and serious neglect and still runs strong. It's good to know my Range could take some abuse if it had to, I guess.
