since the last thread got hijacked, ill post again.
the two other cars i was interested in aren't going through, either too many problems or too expensive for what im getting.
if anyone knows of a s13 with an sr-t, ka-t or rb-t/tt let me know. i need a turbo 240sx soon, its getting warm here and im getting cabin fever.
i'd like a car that doesn't need that much work in the 5k-7k range. if you know of any cars please post as much info as possible about it with PICTURES. im located in cleveland, oh so anything close would be great (but not required).
only one i know of that's for sale right now is a silvia in florida for 6500, but i really dont like the color and the guy drives it extremely hard (he made drifting videos which i've seen....).
thanks for all you help!

my other option is modding the max, i've thought about it. i prolly can't get more than 3 for it, another 2 grand popped into that baby would put it in low 14's. but the body is starting to rust and etc.
maybe i can get a buyer for more, im going to check around.

i say find a nice 240Z shell from like 1972 for like 300 dollars
then swap in a brand new chevy small block v8
keep it stock or do some Air mods, should be fast!
and new engine so repair shouldent come for at lest 20K miles (200k miles if japanese engine) :D

you had POS swap car that u bought without knowing ANYTHING about it other then its a 300zx with a v8 LOL.
Why don't you get a car and buy a swap kit, then do the swap. That way the car actually works, but I forgot you don't know how to do shit, you just want to buy a RELIABLE, 12 second(2 things that don't go together) 240sx for 5k. IF you TRULY want something reliable that goes a little fast for that price range, Id suggest a 95 or so Z28 Camaro. Ya Ya laugh it up, but you said quick daily driver thats reliable, for the price your asking to spend thats about as much of a match as what your asking for. It makes 260hp stock, so without one mod your going to have some power to play around with. For 260hp on a Sr20 you are going to have to make quite a few modifications and introduce a lot more things that can go wrong, and wear out more quickly on the stock parts. Im not bitching you out, you just always have a habit of not buying the right kinda of car for what you want, you always sell them a couple months later LOL, get something right and keep it. A Modified 240sx hatchback is a good play toy weekend car, but what its not is a reliable daily driver, especially in 12 second form. If you want the words reliable and 12 seconds in the same sentence your looking at 40-100k usd.
the words 12 second 1/4 mile and reliable do not go hand in hand. UNless your talking about a z06(stocK) The most reliable car is a stock car, and even then some are better then others. Put on headers or cams any of that stuff, even if its not radical it is greatly reducing the reliability and making you spend a lot more time to make your car run.
I would take all that money and buy all that parts and DIY. That way when something breaks(and it will a lot, especially with a 12 second car) you know how to fix it, instead of being out a car and paying someone to do the work for you. I could see if you were a 60 year old grandma, but I guess your just afraid to get your hands dirty. Don't give me that shit u don't know how to work on cars cause a monkey could eventually.
