I am thinking about getting headers on my 3.8 camaro. I have got a flowmaster catback on it now. I like the sound but the performance is not noticeable that much. I was thinking about taking the flowmaster system off and replacing the whole exhaust system. I thought about getting a complete Borla system but it woudl be pretty expensive. I have also heard good things about Pacesetter headers for the V6. I know alot of people who get the RK Sport but they have been known to have exhaust leaks from what i here. Are there any other brands that would be good? I really want a complete exhaust system with headers, y-pipe, high flow cats, and then the muffler. Just wanted to know what you guys think.

the rk sport headers are not street legal, the pacesetter headers are. that is the first thing you need to decide. i got the pacesetters on my 3.4 and i dont know if i just got a set that they slacked off on or if they are manufactured poorly, but i had to do a lot of off-the-side modifying of the headers to get them to go in. it wasnt anything too difficult; mostly grinding, cutting, and boring but it was time consuming none-the-less. i would recommend the pacesetters just cause they are street legal and you might have better luck than i did. if you do go with pacesetter i can tell you exactly what i had to do to get em in and what you will need for the install (cause pacesetter wont)...

i would reccomend edelbrock TES headers if they make them for your application. check out the website to find out. as far as the cat back, there really isnt any performance difference that you would feel. pretty much all you get in my experience, is a better sound. so i would say, if you like the sound of your flowmasters, why spend money to change it???

my flowmaster cat-back knocked .3 off my E.T. so i'm happy with that.

really???? wow thats impressive, ive never heard of that, i mean they advertize like 10-30 more hp, but i wouldnt think that would make that much of a difference. i eat my words, apparently i was mistaken.

ok, have to recomend agains the flowmasters for the 3.4L V6, drove one today, sounded like it had an exhaust leak rather than a catback system.

magnaflow is a good system for the 3.4, i got it on mine and it sounds nice...as for the headers i would agree with 89 and get the TES headers...
