hardcore jetta tuner?

hey,whats up.My name is adrian and im from the crx forum.my friend just picked up a 1987 jetta.500 bucks.Anywayz me and him are goin to tune it up.I want to know if this car is good to tune,as is there alot of aftermarket crap out for it.i need to know if there is a 1.8 t that i can slap in to this badboy whithout any problems.hit me up.We want to have a turbo car and im not a vw tuner i tune hondas but this car is fun as hell to drive so if anybody knows alot bout this car and what its performance ability is.Thanx alot.

Well, aftermarket parts are getting harder and harder to find for these cars. But, the parts out there are very cheap, well compared to the parts for my 1999 Jetta. What engine is in your friend's Jetta currently? If it is a 1.8 you will not have to make new motor mounts to fit a 1.8T into it. But, have fun wiring all the electronics up.
