removing headlights

last time i tried to change my bulbs i had to jimmy the headlight out of the body. it was a real hassle and i almost damaged it. is there an easier way to remove the headlight or do i just have to take the front bumper off?

Yes take off the bumper, and you'll see a big metal bracket which you "jimmied" them out of :lol:
You gotta unbolt them first.

Once you've done it a few times, removing the front bumper takes about 2 minutes. It sounds substantially more difficult than it is - don't be afraid.

it is pretty easy, if your bolts aren't corroded and half stripped from road wear....i put a nice dent in my fender just trying to get one of those plastic tree things off the wheel well, then i realized like 3 of the 7 bolts i had to take off are sealed....i got mad and threw my rachet at a fence..

im having real trouble trying to get the bumper off, because the bolt you guys are talking about, is corroded or stripped or whatever, is there a way to fix it? and be able to take off the bumper?

get a pair of vice grips and get it on there real tight, its a pain in the ass, but if you get it on there good enough you can spin it, thats what I had to do with one of them. If you don't have a bolt to replace it with, then dont even bother putting it back in once you have it off.

where the hell would i get some vice grips? lowes' ? wal-mart? where?

anywhere that has tools, probably sears, get the smaller ones though, they'll probably grip the bolt better

on a side note, are optx/streetglow headlights any good?

This is a very LONG answer to your question, but get educated before you swap your headlight bulbs.
