I currently have a three year old that is in a regular car seat. My wife and I just found out we are to have twins in August (if she lasts that long)!! Just curious if anyone out there has tried to put three car seats (2 infant w/ a regular car seat) in the back of a Trooper???

My 2yr old & 1 month old's seats fit with room to spare in my rodeo. A third would fit with no problem & the rodeo is less roomy than the trooper. My cousin has 2 toddler seats in the back of his 2002 trooper with plenty of room for another (I was sure to bring that up to him :iceslolan ).

Not sure if anyone is following this thread anymore, but I'm just curious as to what KIND of car seats you are using. We currently have our 2 kids in Booster seats (1 Graco and 1 Century)----and I kind of think of them as "thrones" for my 6 year old and my 3 year old. They are big....real big. We're expecting #3 in 3 weeks.......and we're thinking that we won't be able to fit the baby in the seat with the 2 booster seats. The problem here in NJ is that there is a 8 year/80 lb law...that states your kids MUST be in at least a booster seat until they reach either threshold. It's going to be expensive to move towards a mini-van right now....so I'm wondering if you can shed some light on just HOW you fit 3 seats in a rodeo
:D Thanks!

Right now we have 2 in the back, an infant style graco that snaps in/out of a base that stays in the truck and a large toddler style graco (60lbs max I believe). There is room in between for an adult to sit (probably not comfy for long trips though). Quite often we put 3 in the back, 2 infant style & one large toddler. The 3 fit with several inches to spare in between. This is in a 2002 rodeo which has less interior room than the trooper. Figure that a full size booster seat is not going to take up more room than an average adult. The only way you going to know what fits your specific application is to measure the seats or test fit them.

You may try the Britax Bodyguard for your 6 and or 3 year old. This is a booster seat without 5 point harness and the base is adjustable by width. It is rated for kids until 100lbs and great for the outboard positions as it offers side impact protection for the head. Seat constructed like racing seats in Germany. I find it is narrower than my Century booster. The seat runs about $100 with free shipping.
