Do you mean biggest, baddest, or easiest upgrade...?
If you go to www.stealth316.com, click on "library", scroll down to "turbos" under "upgrade guides" there is a pretty detailed comparison of all the turbos available for our car. Hope it helps.

Well i was lookin at getting 368's from the start. But i dont want to have to do alot of modifications to just get them to fit.
Requires an install kit
- Requires modifications to :
- right plenum stay must be trimmed
- both water feed lines need to be relocated and re-shaped or replaced pipes with hoses
- front motor mount must be trimmed or use GT PRO replacement
- a radiator fan support may need to be trimmed
- intercooler pipes at the turbo must be larger
- compressor housings may have to be clocked (rotated with respect to exhaust housing)
How hard is it to do all that stuff and where can i find all that stuff to do it?

:cwm27:   :iceslolan
he is asking so he can tell me on the other thread that he has those.
honestly you can't say any turbo is the best because it totally depends on what you want.
do you want a daily driver or a track only car?
are you looking to run road courses or the 1/4 or get the best comprimise between the two?
do you want high peak hp or a good full powerband?
do you want to spend $1k or $20k.
there is no best turbo, it is very application specific. but many say that the best all around turbos for our cars ar 15G's and now 14b's
yea, so why won't you tell us what turbos you used to get your 750hp to the wheels?????

Well
1. Its will be a daliy driver.
2.I want a good 1/4 mile but i also want a good highway racing car. Also a good road course car.
3.For a good 1/4 mile and higway racing i would have to have better high end power but i also need a good powerband.
With every thing i need (intake, boost controller, downpipe, rear pre-cat, cat-back exhaust system, blow-off valve, boost EGT gauges, underdrive pullys, ECU upgrade, fuel pump, turbos, FMIC,injectors, S-AFC, clutch and flywheel) i want to spend about...like...$14-16,000.I put a parts list together and it came up to $13,000 forevery thing i listed.I still need to add somethings that i forgot to look at/write down. But i want a daily driver that could run 11's or maybe 10's.I just dont know how i could run 10's.11's are hard to do.So i dont know yet.I would do a rebuild and port the heads. So thats who knows how much more.
Hope that helps you alitte bit about what i want to do.

gt pro's 347's (357's&368'S) and up sound about what u need. as well as an arc2 (fuel controller) and i would hold off on the computer stuff until aem gets everything right
youngmanvr4

Why a ARC2 and not a ARC?
The ECU upgrade i would be doing is G-Force ECU.
We then move to addressing the limits of the Stock ECU with a G-Force ECU upgrade. This removes fuel cut, power tunes the timing and fuel curves and upon request we can raise the rev limiter.
That what it does.
Heres my Part list.Tell me how it sounds.
Racing Hart C4's with Toyo Proxes 4 trim $3,640
Tein FLEX Damper's with EDFC $1,940
Stillen Intake kit $169
Greddy PRofec-B II boost controller $329
Stillen Downpipe $379 (I dont have smog check)
DN rear pre-cat $279
JIC Twin 505 stainless steel cat-back $1,049
Greddy type-s blow-off valve $299
Greddy 60mm boost gauge with Duel A-Pod $235
Greddy 60mm EGT gauge $209
Dynamic Racing Stage 3 upgrade:Unorthodox underdrive pullys, Gates belt set, G-Force ECU, Denso 310 lph fuel pump $1,269
GT-Pro 368 turbos $3,294
3SX Turbo oil line kit $329
GT-Pro FMIC $2,694
Denso 660cc injectors (or 770cc) $689
Apex'i S-AFC (or S-AFC II) $349
RPS Max clutch 6 puck $565
RPS light weight flywheel $ 488
Without Rims, tires and suspension upgrade its $12,586 with all mods listed.
With rims, tires and suspension its $18,160 with all mods listed.
Other then all my talking and the prices hows my list sound for what i want?

i think the 368's might be a bit laggy to be good on a road course. when do they get full boost, i thought it was pretty high.
sounds good to me except i would consider 2 things. one is substituting all of the electronics for an aem. they are a lot harder to work with but a much better bang for the buck and usually end up saving you money over buying a tof of different piggybacks. the other thing is you might want to consider a 3sx light weight pully instead of an underdrive. it gives you a very similar gain without the loss of power from what i hear.

I didn't think that you could tune the AEM system when i'm driving down the road. Can you?How much more better is it?How much harder is it to use? What all do i need to make it work?
youngmanvr4
03-01-2004, 02:54 AM
The thing for me is i have never tuned a car.I just did a little research on AEM EMS and it sounds a little hard to work with.Plus i have to have a laptop just to tune it.Is that right?
Teazrsnow
03-01-2004, 11:36 AM
yes that is right usually they are tuned to perform awesome in both. for all you other questions just call gt-pro Brian is an awesome guy to talk to about these things, his car is in scc and modified and he explains everything about his car that has 150000 mi. and 368's no internal mods but a fuel kit,and still runs like new

So how hard is it to use the EMS?I never have tuned my car.So would the my other system (S-AFC, Greddy B-II boost controller, HKS twin power ignition amplifier, G-Force ECU, Pocket logger Datalogger) work better being new to tuning?I would have to do the tuning myself and i dont have a dyno near around me.So i would have to do it on the road. Can you tune the AEM EMS on the road?

Ok.So my system is ok?I know i will have to rebuild my engine sometime. But can i get by with having all thos mods and being a daily driver? How hard is it with all the mods is it to get to mid to low 11's and being a daily driver? Can the car take it?

low 11's not to sure just say an 11.7 prolly but stuff will still break more often

A buddy of mine runs 11.8 in his VR4. He has the DR650's. That's at only 18psi. He should be able to hit about 25psi with his current setup, but he is slowly upping the boost and tuning as he goes. Last year, when he hit his 11.8, his TC decided to blow up, so the season ended early. He plans on low 11's for this upcoming season.
My RT/TT is getting 14B's soon. it is completely gutted for weight savings and is being done on the cheap. I was just curious to see how fast it could go for the CHEAPEST amount of money. I paid $1500 for the car, so... it was a good start.
