PICS of my installed amp... =D

Here's the pics, some of you all have been patiently waiting for...

This first pic is of my sub, that my amp is hooked to. The hanging wires, are the ones that runn from my rear speakers, to the high to low signal converter I needed to get a signal to my amp. The sub is a Pioneer IMPP 350w "10 driver, sounted inside a somewhat big, MDF carpeted box. I lined the inside of the box myself, with nylon pillow batting...

This is a pic of my infamous amp. It's an Infinity RA7502 300w RMS amp. Like I've mentioned before, as some may take note, Infinity no longer (as of last year) makes amps for the US market, so this amp you see is actually a European spec amp. Also take note of the board I have the amp mounted to. I got the wood for it from Home Depot, and had them cut it for me, for the dimensions of the amp, plus an extra ½ inch more, on each measurement for extra space. All 4 screws that mount the amp to the board, I have rubber washer risers around them, to dampen vibrations to the amp, and to also raise the amp up, so it'll clear over the bolts holding the wood board to the bottom of the trunk floor.

Now that it's all installed, and working, all I gotta do now is properly tune it to my system. The high to low converter has a set of gains on it, as does the amp. Everything sounds good, I control the bass levels with both my bass adjuster on my radio (foactory OEM Honda AM/FM radio), and also by adjusting the fader to lessen the rear volume. Is these techniques the norm for controlling the levels of the sub, or should I tweak the gain control on the amp? I also have the bass boost on the amp turned on. People have told me that since it's only powering the sub, I shouldn't worry about turning on the bass boost, but it sounds better with it on, yes a little louder, but at the 45hz boost point, it greatly enhances, and loudens the bass response of low bass notes. Any suggestions for me? Thanks. :)

you can never have to much control on my system i had an amp bass control on my dash along with the bass,a subwoofer controller and a bass boost on the head unit it was great i see nothing wrong with how your doing it though

nice install, it looks like you'll have a good system there.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the install and how it turned out. The system does bump really good now, and I love the sound of it all, once I put in the front 2-way coax speakers. Now all I gotts do is get the Infinity Kappa 6x9's I'm gonna get hooked up with soon, and I'll be all set for my ICE. :) I don't need anything fancy, just something that'll sound decent, and get my audio needs taken care of. Is there any problems with mounting higher power handling speakers on to my stock Honda headunit?

yes you will
my first car i hooked up new speakers to my stock radio and the speakers draw more power, thus making music come out weaker. infinity speakers seems to have good efficiency ratings so it should be fine though.

It's working out very nicely so far. :) It's not too much for what I want, and it's definitely not too little either. It's perfect. I can crank it a bit up from where it's currently set at, volume of bass wise, so I'm in the "happy" medium of it I'd say. It doesn't at all distort any that I can tell, and what's good is, the bass inside the car is intense but you can barely even hear it outside of the car, which is good, you won't hear me coming up the street, that's for sure! :p But for what I need/want right now, it's working out perfectly! :) I guess I was fortunate enough to have this amp perfectly matched (or so it seems) power wise, to this sub.

Not sure what else I want to do with my amp, yet... =\

My cousin's fiance, the one who got me the amp, can hook me up with some sweet employee wholesale pirce discounts on any speakers in the Infinity/JBL catalog, so when that come around again in April I think it is, I'm gonna have him order me a set of Infinity referance or Kappa series for the front 6½'s and the rear 6x9's. Those speakers are really good quality, either line I get, and for the Kappas, the green poly cones on them look sweet! But that's about all for anything I have planned for my system in the near future.

Yeah, the Referance series are white cones, and the Kappa are green pearl mica.

If the prices are gonna be same as the X-mas sale then I can get the referance for about $21 a pair, and the Kappa for about $30-$35 a pair. :bloated:

Well my cousin's fiance works for Harman Int'l, so he can get pretty much any JBL/Infinity stuff for below wholesale cost (when these sales are in affect that is), and can get them at cost any other time.
