Rear Defroster Auto On

At about 39 degrees and below, the auto rear defroster ALWAYS comes on and stays on for awhile after starting the vehicle....I've been driving for over 25 years and rearly need to use the defroster for the rear window unless it is snowing.

Is there a way to disable this auto-on feature?

My 2002 330 does this too. I wonder whether you can press and hold the button for four seconds to tell it to stay off unless deliberately turned on. That seems to be the BMW MO for some other features.

Have you tried to cancel the auto-on function of the rear window defroster?
