86 350 TPI. is there any way to adjust the timing on the distribitor without changing timing chain????????????????????

um, yeah, undo the bolt at the bottom of the distributor, well, loosen it anyway. while a timing light is on the mark, turn the distributor clockwise and counter clockwise, this will change the timing, and is the correct method of setting the timing anyway.

oh and forgot, that there is a plug you have to disconnect. it is a single wire connector, in front of the passenger side firewall, just behind the wheel well. disconnect it, fire up the engine, set the timing, turn the engine off, reconnect the connector. Timing should be set to 0 degrees with that connector uncliped. on a stock engine anyway.
