Fan not kicking in

in my 2000 cherokee i just put in a trans cooler and all went well. but now i noticed that my fan isnt kicking in any more ( i might just be paranoid) but it seemes to me that it used to kick in pretty frequently. I was thinking that it was the cooler but while in the process of installing the cooler i noticed i was missing something so i had to throw everything back together and head to the parts house. ok while on the way there i noticed the fan wasnt kicking in either (this is without the cooler hooked up). so needless to say im a little confused (or paranoid) at what temp shoud the fan kick in? should it kick in while at idle? im pretty sure it has the original thermostat and everything( i diont know what tem it is) the normal temp is about 200-210 deg F. any advice would be awesome, if im just being paranoid just smack me. you just might be paranoid, but sometimes being paranoid can save you from problems that havent already occured. im not sure the operating temp. of it but it it seems normal and ur temp. gauge doesnt seem high ur proabably ok. chek to see that the fan is plugged in and everything. maybe the cooling system is more efficient so it might not need to come on as much. wait and see what everyone else says, thats what i would do for now

Thanx THE TRANSMISSION WAS ORGINALLY COOLED FROM THE RADIATOR & THE TEMP OF YOU TRANSMISSION COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSEING THE FAN TO TURN ON, SINCE YOU ADDED THE TRANSMISSION COOLER THE HEAT OF THE TRANSMISSION OIL IS COOLER.tHAT IS WAY YOUR FAN ISN;T TURNING ON - OFF DALE

i thought that there was something was wrong with my electric fan, but recently mine started to overheat, and at over 210 i noticed it kicked in when i was sitting at idle somewhere with the windows down and i heard it, but with the ignition off, the fan doesnt work. someone said that if you disconnect the wires and run wires to the motor then you can turn it on momentarily

the fan on my 89 only comes on when the a/c is turned on. I've had it overheating and teh damn fan still woun't come on.

is there a seperate temp sensor for the fan or does it just use a ECU reading from the CTS?
