Someone please help? I have a 1999 3.2L V-6 Rodeo with 80K. Unfortunetly I am overseas right now with my car and nobody will work on it in the UK, so I am a do it yourselfer! Everything imagineable has gone:
First my CEL came on, went and got codes read and it was the front O2 sensors. Ordered them, but drove it until they came in and the car started to idle rough and I figured it was the sensors, but then it started dying on me when I would come to stops or when I would just be driving along. Replaced O2 sensors and it still was running bad, but now it has a whistling to it (maybe I should tighten the O2 senosrs more)? Went to get codes cleared and they said I had a faulty throttle pos. sensor, which I have now replaced, but the truck is still running worse than ever. I have heard about the EGR, Intake gasket, and other things, but where should I start over here since I am on my own? I have already spent over a $1000 dollars on this thing just to try and get it back up and running, please help?
Second the ABS light came on a while ago and when I would try to stop it the abs would activate for no reason, got codes read and it was a faulty rear abs sensor that I ordered and replaced, but when I went to get it cleared out it said that I had a open circuit?

I also have a 1999 3.2L v-6 rodeo with almost the same miles and my abs light turned on, my gas light blinks with full tank of gas, my cel is also on. I have not went to the dealership yet to get these things checked.
Did you know that isuzu had a recall on the abs, coil integrated module (isuzu called it a safety improvement campaign) # to contact is 18002556727. Keep me posted at [email protected] on what you find out.

Sounds very much like a bad intake manifold gasket, from the FAQ:
Do you have a Rough idle, check engine light on, or air leak noise from under the hood. The Intake gasket breaking may be the cause on the 98 and newer v/6 Trooper and Rodeo.
Surging, stalling and system lean bank codes points towards a bad intake manifold gasket.
Stalling / TSB about a leaky intake manifold gasket. Presents itself as a sporadic stalling problem under the following conditions: a. Engine at normal operating temp. b. Low speed or acceleration from a stop. c. 15-20 seconds before shut down, engine feels sluggish like missing fuel. d. The engine stalls and is hard to start but after 3-5 minutes of rest it does perfectly fine and engine runs smoothly. Solution 1: Check computer and reset/check PCM wires. Solution 2: Dealership says most of the 3.2L's they checked for a leaky gasket turned out to have it.

You have a bad fuel level sending unit, common problem with that year, a recall is supposed to be issued in 6-8 weeks but it's covered under the powertrain warranty.

I will give the manifold gasket a try. Do you know of any instuctions to change it out since I am doing it myself? Thanks for your help!

yup sounds like the intake gasket. The whistling is the classic symtom. Over time the whistling will go away due to the hole in the gasket is getting bigger.

I just ordered it last night, so hopefully it gets here soon. I also cleaned my EGR yesterday, it had alot of build up on it, but unfortunelty I had to put the old gasket back on until my new one comes in. I appreciate you replying because you seem to very knowledgable, hopefully I can get this thing fixed! Do you have any instructions or examples of changing the intake gasket out? Is it easy? One more thing real quick, my Rodeo started bucking a bit during acceleration and deceleration. Do you have any ideas?

that could be water in your gas tank.. add some water remover or dry gas like 2 bottles at a time for a while & add one bottle of an injector cleaner..

Bad gas would not cause the whistling noise, it IS the intake manifold gasket.
