Limp Clutch in 2001 2.0L?!

I was pulling her out of the garage today, and put her in first gear, and as soon as I did so, the clutch pedal went completely limp! it went all the way down to the floor and stayed there. I panicked for a second, and pressed it again, and then it popped back up. over the course of the day, this happened twice more (in traffic, even... :uhoh: ) does anyone know what the friggin deal is??

I assume you can't change gears when the pedal goes to the floor. I'd say the self-adjusting mechanism on the cable is slipping.
