The LCD on my '96 Jetta factory installed radio has slowly been headed south, but the radio/cassette still works. I don't have to see the display to operate. However, I just disconnected the battery, and now the display is so bad, I can't see what I am entering. I know my code. Can anyone walk me through the exact steps so I can reprogram this as if I am blind? the manual is not very specific. The dealer says I need a new radion, but when this happend a year ago, I successfully reprogrammed it . . . but I could just make out the display at that point.

press and hold mold then right after hold scan too for 5-10 seconds
then use the numbers 1 2 3 4 to enter your code.
the default will be 1000 so if your first # is 1. dont change that since your display is mashed. but ye just make sure u know what # u r at. then do the first step to store
