something new. something good?

I am buying a new truck this summer. The Trailblazer looks like a good bet. I like the room and the new inline-6. Chevy has had pretty good success with new engines, as with the LS6, still I'm not sure whether the Trailblazer's (along with it's sisters the Bravada and the Envoy) is a good bet. It's said to have 270hp @ 600rpm...at 6000rpm!!! I'm not sure how often I'll be pushing it that high (then again I've not yet seen what it's rev limit is, I'm guessing it's around 6500rpm). I would like to see a breakdown of the power curve, seeing as how most people drive in the 2000-4000rpm range. I like the 4-wheel vented anti-lock disc brakes though. I don't think the word 'vented' should be used as a marketing strategy though. I don't believe the average Joe will be braking hard enough and often enough to begin the heat the brakes to a dangerous level. Overall though I feel the Trailblazer is a good buy @ $25,000-$33,000.:rolleyes:

I agree. I've been looking for a new truck over teh last few weeks and was terribly dissapointed in those Nissan, Mazda and Toyota had to offer. Problems were either not enough power, or not enough room, or I simply did not like the design. When I saw the Trailblazer for the first time, I fell in love with it's design. (If you lok at the headlights from the front, kinda reminds me of a Nissan Skyline). As far as performance, the power is definitely there when you need it. It's confortable as hell and hopefully it will be as reliable as it's hoped to be. Overall I'm 100% happy with my purchase and i'll be posting pictures soon.

I like the design and power too but it seems it´s not so reliable; General Motors is recalling 78,004 GMC Envoy and Chevrolet Trailblazer models built between January and August, 2001 to recalibrate the transfer case control module. On models equipped with 4-wheel drive, the calibration of the transfer case control module could cause insufficient high-speed gear engagement. If the gear is not engaged, the vehicle can roll when the transmission is in "Park. :eek: :mad:

Really? Where can I get more information on this recall to find out if perhaps my truck is in the list? Have any links or phone numbers?

I think from some New York post or something, I don´t remember sorry, but you should check it out. Anywise if your SUV was on the list you certainly would have been called, I guess. :cool:

The recal is not of major concern for anyone really. No harm has come from it as no incidents that I'm aware of caught publicity or noteworthyness.

It's just a simple flash upgrade to the PCM. Done in 15 minutes.

This is a very minor issue with the Triplets.
