Door locked and closed

My 93 Town Car has electric doors and the right rear door is closed and locked. The manual knob on top of the panel is stuck down and I broke off the tip trying unsuccessfully to get it to move up. All other doors work normally. Any suggestions for getting the panel off with the door closed to see what the problem is?

Removal and Installation, Rear--Town Car 1996
bad news my friend...
I'll post the instruction from the book however it's not going to work while the door is closed because there's one screw near the top of the trim panel that can only be removed with the door open. Open you're other rear door and look near the top/rear side of the trim panel, you'll see that one screw.
With that said, the one screw seems to me to be the only impossible obstacle. The obvious obstacles are the rear seats. Bottom seat for sure, and maybe even the top section as well if yours is still really puffy.
If you can get the rear seats out of the way and are willing to tear out (that meant break) the grip of that last reamining screw you should have no problem getting the door panel off with the door still closed.
Now keep in mind, these (and my opinions and observations) are from my 1996 car, and manual
1) Snap out two door pull strap retaining screw covers and remove screws.
2) Remove one screw on rear side of rear door trim panel.
3) Using the trim pad removing tool from Rotunda Windshield and Moulding/Trim Kit 107-R0401 or equivalent, pry trim panel retaining clips from rear door inner panel.
4) Move rear door trim panel forward to slip cup off inside release handle, then rotate rear door trim panel to remove vertical lock rod.
5) Disconnect any electrical connections from switches at trim panel if equipped and remove rear door trim panel.
To install, reverse Removal procedure. Use two guide pins to align clips during installation.

The handle on the inside of the car does not budge?
I suspect a rod problem and or latch assembly.
