I just bought a set of ceramic brake pads hopeing that they will work better for stopping and maybe help from heating up the rottors and keeping them from warping.
Has any body else tried this?

I prefer using the cheapest pads you can find, they are alot softer and provide alot better braking. Ceramic pads are hard and last a long time AND they do work fine, I just prefer softer pads.

My opinion.

homefree,
you made a good choice, I installed Napa ceramix on both a 1990 siverado and a 98 Malibu.
Malibu has a history of chewing up brakes, Mine has gone 36000
miles so far, and the pads have plenty of meat on them.
Silverado only had a few thousand miles on it's brakes before I sold it to buy the 99.

Ceramic brakes are OEM on many HIGH end cars. They are extreemly quit, and generate low brake dust.

Make sure you turn the rotors before installing!
