If you don't like other people's music you don't have to be a dickhead about it. I'm sure I don't like some of the crap you listen to but I wouldn't make worthless replies downing them because we have different tastes

Yeah Tool is one of those bands I usually listen to whenever I'm bored same with Perfect Circle.

Yes! Tool is the greatest.

Didn't much care for Lateralus, although I didn't listen to it much and it got stolen a while back, but Opiate, Aenima, and Undertow are some of the best albums I've ever heard. I think I did hear that there's a new Tool album in the works.

I like A Perfect Circle too. Not as much as I like Tool, but they're still pretty damn good. I'm going to see them live (again) in about a month or so.

I caught A Perfect Circle concert a few months ago and it was pretty good. They're really slow, so the crowd just stood there listening. Lateralus was kinda "different" but it had a couple good tracks. From what I hear their next album is going to have the same type of atmosphere :(... I'm sure it will still be worth it though.

Oh yeah anybody download the Tapeworm songs? I wish Maynard/Reznor would release an album with those songs instead of just a bunch of live shit on the internet.

Tool is badass, I just got into them recently, I guess it's one of those deals where you have to hear the album as a whole to appreciate it. I'd imagine we'll be seeing a new album this year, Lateralus was out in 2001 and here we are in 2004, shouldn't be too long...

Tool is simply the best band around. I believe that Lateralus is the best CD, but they're all so good. I get to go to the A Perfect Circle concert on March 20th with all my friends, it'll be awesome. Tool is supposed to come out with a CD around 2006, probably not sooner.

Tool rocks, but they're on hiatus while Maynard concentrates on APC. I've never seen em live, but I saw a tribute band a few weeks back (theres a thread about it) and they fucking rocked! So I can only imagine what the real thing would be like.

I loved the dark feeling of Aenima (and the holographic case!), but I've only listened to bits of Lateralus. I thought I borrowed the cd from a mate, but it was only the case :(

Freaky thing: Tool - The Grudge started playing when I opened this thread.

Man, I love the case for lateralus, that layered clear graphics, that kind of slowly dissect the human in the center.

I personally love trying to learn the basslines to the songs. So far i've pretty much learned how to play: Sober, Schism, Eulogy, The Grudge, 46&2, Aenema, Lateralus... holy crap! i know how to play a lot more Tool than I thought. A lot of those basslines go in weird directions, and the timing ALWAYS goes awry.

That's one of the main things I like about their music... alot of times they play in weird time signatures like 5/4 time, etc. And alot of times, one instrument is playing in one time signature while the others are in another time signature, but somehow, they all come together just right... very off-beat drumming and whatnot. I like the fact that they don't just play good music, but that they are also very technically competent musicians as well.

Best example of what Mike is talking about would be Third Eye...the drums vs guitar at the end..wow..
