time for a new car

i am looking into buying a car, but i am torn. the three i have narrowed it down to are 1.200 vw golf/gti w/a 1.8t and 5 speed
2.2000 subaru 2.5 rs w/5 speed
3.2000 subaru legacy gt w/5 speed
each car has its ups and downs and i just cant decide

If youre looking for performance, be aware that the Golf handles like a boat. Rule that one out immediately. I'd take the 2.5RS

I drove my friends golf and it didn't feel like a boat. When you say boat I think of a Chevy lumina or caprice and they handle like they are heavy and huge...which they are.
2.5RS is pretty great other than gas mileage which can be very poor depending on how you drive. They are relatively fast from what I understand (never test drove one).

My own golf isnt a gti, but i drove a friend's and the suspension's soft, the car's too heavy, it scrabbles for grip when you push it, there's no steering feel, i could go on... As a performance car it's a piece of shit, classy interior though. It depends on what your priorities are.
