i'd atleast try it out on a junk cluster before doing it on your own. Just so you know what to do and what not to do if you go to do it on the sir one.

the way my dad did it.. separate the speedometer from the cluster. then he took a pocket knife.. stuck it in between the numbers. separated the numbers, and just rolled back the numbers. it worked fine after putting it in. just test things out on a junk cluster first.

Use two spoons. Works real good. Just out them both under the needle (the base of it) and use the end of each spoon for leverage to push on.

Actually, i guess i dont know for a fact, but ive definitly heard from more than one person that rolling back odometers on cars that are a certain amount of years old is not illegal. I think the number of years was either 10 or 12. Who knows if its definitly true, but i did it too. All the way back to 12,000. It feels so young :p

my odometer has been exempt. That is what my title says, anyway. So since it is exempt, does that mean that I won't get in trouble if I rollback or does the exempt mean something else??

There is a sticker you get from a speedometer calibrtion shop that states the original miles on the car and the miles that are on the new spedometer...the sticker stays on the door jamb...

just stick a drill in the speedo cable slot on the back... it'll take a long time, but at least u don't have to take the unit apart. i've tried taking the needles off, it was hopeless, i broke every one.
