I'm asking for my friend, Teg w/ a B18C5.
We just finished adjusting the valves, put it back together, and put on his brand new Nology wires. He has a brand new battery. Anyway, it won't start, at all, won't even crank. We used the Haynes manual for everything. We he turns it over, the lights dim. Does anyone have any light they could shed???

according to the manual we did, i mean, of course i thought of that, it's not that. We even tried different combos in case we read the manual wrong. But even w/ the wires wrong, the starter should still crank.

Has to be the battery, try top jump start it with some jumper cables. Did you leave the radio going or anything while you were working on it?

if you have alarm with starter kill, your alarm maybe activated. arm and disarm your alarm and try starting it.
i really don't know, other than disconnecting the battery to let it reset, maybe a short circuit or something, goodluck.

see, thing is, lights dim when we crank it, but then full power quickly returns, windows go up/down @ normal speed. Is it the new wires? Or did we mess sumthin up while adjusting the valves?

Chill out man this is not onstant help, people have jobs etc you know.
Also it is hard to fix a car that is hundreds of miles away and the help given has not been tried. It has to be the battery, it takes alot more power to start the motor than it does to roll the windows up and down. Try jump starting ot or try a known good battery. Then reply back with the results. ;)

did u disconnect any wires from the starter? there is a ground on the starter, make sure that is connected along with the other wires on the starter. if all that is ok. try to jump start the starter by connecting the battery directly to the starter. if that doesnt work make sure the timing is not off and that the cams are not stuck.

Damn, samething happen to me this afternoon!
it won't crank, just silence. I tried to start it several times. This happened before, a couple weeks ago and I thought it went away.
Anywayz I opened the hood, looked okay, test battery, it was fully charged. arm & disarm alarm couple times, just in case, got pissed and behold it started!
Don't know what the cause was, but i hope it won't return, but it'll probaly will...
try cursing and yelling at it, maybe it will start for u...
