If anything I think the tape on the lights is a hazzard. What does it do, besides block some light and look stupid? Even if you did hit something head on your lights would break.

Well, people who autoX usually tape the headlights before getting on the track, as habib was trying to demonstrate.

As for that car though.... looks ghetto fab... from the tape on the headlights, to the no gloss black hood, right down to that horrible looking excuse for a front lip. What's that? Sidewalk/Flourbed liner screwed onto the bottom of your bumper?

MY buddy leaves his tape and the # on his car till the next auto X its soo funny. Its pimp too girls ask him whats up. Then he tends to strike out though. I still vote that is hot shit.

hehe thanks Ami. Just to clarify for everyone you don't need to tape your headlights for autox. Track racing its usually optional, i know alot of people who don't tape their lights while I know others that go hog wild and tape half the nose of the car hehe. I don't use that much tape anymore, just a nice big fat peice that runs across both the main headlight and cornermarker just to be safe.

BTW, the tape - believe it or not - does help for foggy/night-time-snowy weather driving. It splits the beam of the headlight thus reducing glare/reflection. Try it before you hate, because I have - and it works.

allright i am running a jdm d15b with a pr3 ecu from japan, intake, and gsr wheels painted black. and for the head lights having the x on it if u watch alot of videos from japan every 1 has it on there for a reason but i have it on there for autoxing

thought it was some kinda safety thing for that, if u tape the thing completly with clear packing tape and layer it a couple times it might even protect it from rock chips
