i just replaced the alternator today and tried to crank my jeep after installing it and it clicked once and now nothing will happen. ive got power because my system still hits good, i hooked jumper cables up to see if it just dindt have enough power to turn over and thats not it either. i was lookin around and noticed that my starter cable that runs from the battery to the starter somehow the protective cable has been "eatin" off of it but it didnt look like any of the wires had been severed. any input?

FIRST CHANGE THE FRAYED CABLE, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST, THEN CHECK THE GROUND CABLE. ON SOME JEEPS THIS GROUND CABLE IS GROUNDEDTO THE BLOCK RIGHT IN BACK OF WHERE THE ALTERNATOR IS MOUNTED CHECK & MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD GROUND & THAT IT IS COMPLETELY CLEAN. IF YOU JUMP IT HOOK THE + OF THE JUMPER CABLES TO YOUR + BATTERY POST. PUT THE JUMPER CABLE- FROM THE OTHER CAR, GROUND IT TO YOUR ENGINE BLOCK, IF IT STARTS THIS WAY THE GROUND ON YOUR JEEP IS BAD DALE
