i ordered a short aem intake and it showed up and its only a 2 1/2"!!!
is there a reason they dont make 3"? the 2 1/2" cant possibly be better right?? i ordered it cause im just using the paper material intake and i wanted more airflow, now i got a better intake but smaller piping! how much of a differance will i feel or see on the dyno compared to the 3"piping w/ paper intake?

I would be surprised if you see much of a difference on the dyno period running N/A.

When it comes to intake tubes and exhaust headers/pipes, a bigger diameter is not always better. The smaller the tube, the faster the air will move through it, and your engine only requires a certain amount of air. So the best tube will be one where the engine gets all the air it needs, but NO MORE. If the tube/pipe is too big, you will see bogging or backpressure. So sometimes a thinner pipe gives you more hp. It's like in the old days when people had carbs you had to pick the right size carb, not just the biggest. Hope that helps.
