hey there, i've got a stock d15b7 engine, i'm looking for some fairly cheap mod ideas you people running the D have done

Ok heres what you can do thats cheap.You can bypass the Mass Air Flow Sensor on your throttle body by using check valves which will cost around 20 bucks.This really wont do anything unless you plan to turbocharge.You can buy an apc intake thats around 80 bucks.You can get your catalyctic converter cut off and get a pipe welded on for like 35 bucks which let me state this is illegal in doing so.Make sure they weld it good cause you dont want any exhaust leaks.You can put an exhaust on but that might cost around 150 bucks if you want to get it welded.You can move your battery to your trunk make sure you get 4 gauge wire or bigger like 1 gauge,this wont make your car have any more power but it will make the top end lighter and put it on the opposite side of the driver in the trunk this will help correction in the turns.You can buy a strut tower bar that i think is like 40 bucks if you go apc.That thing helps a hell of alot on your turns.You can buy coilovers(Dropzone Suspension) for like 115 dollars with a 4 inch drop i recommend keeping it at about 2 or just above your tire.You can buy a camber correction kit but those with everything will cost around 500 bucks.Other than those it would really be best to just save your money and get a new engine and everything because having that little 1.5 your gonna get smoked quite a few times believe me it sucks really bad.

d15b7 = 300,000 miles or more.

Believe me just like the turtle, in the long run it's worth it. Then you can smoke any car with that milage. I have 315,00 b15b7 and smoking everybody. Including the Prelude.

thanks for you help, yea, i just hate the fact that there isn't much a person can do to the D15b7. i know i could fab up a custom turbo and make the engine solid, but this is my first car, i have no tools other than a few screwdrivers, no knowledge of where to start, and i live in southern minnesota, not exactly SoCal...well i'm lookin at a b16 from a del sol, but my first priority is to work on my D, looks like i gotta start hittin these forums hard :rolleyes:

if you're looking to getting a b16, don't waste the money buying parts for your d-series. None of the parts will transfer over except the exhaust. Just keep saving for the engine swap. If the mod bug has you hard, do suspension mods. You'll be much happier with a tighter suspension than a few mods that won't increase power much.
