Learn how to lose gracefully. The odds favor the house. The game with your best odds (wich are still lower then the houses) is Craps. Its also the most difficult game to master.

Blackjack $2 or $5 tables are your safest bet if you understand the game. You tend to lose slowly or win slowly. You can play a long time on fifty bucks.

You, of course, could play roulette and put equal amount of money on red and black. At least then you won't lose anything.

Don't look suspicious. They don't like suspicious people.

Don't go anywhere near the slots. For a "gambling n00b" your best bet, as yogs said, is blackjack. Easy to master, fun to play, and lasts a long time.

Craps is also a lot of fun when you're on a roll. However, many rules that are easy to learn, but hard to master. I'd honestly suggest picking up a cheap casino video game and playing and learning that way.

Disagree - go for the 1c 'slot' machines (we call them pokies - poker machines)

LOL at the sig too.

Well, my first trip was just a few months ago, it was pretty awesome.

tips;

1. Never bring more than $25, I never bring more than $20, but I'll explain more about that later.
2. Watch before you play, you may think you know a fair bit about a game, but watch before you jump in, I spent 45 min wtaching my friends play before I did.
3. Walk away if you're up. It's what everyone says and nobody does. I was up $250 my first time, and I managed to let it all slwoly slip away.
4. If you lose, you lose, don't dish out more cash. I once walked in with $20, lost it in about 6 minutes, I left.
5. You will lose any money you bring to a casino, enjoy it while it lasts.

I am a gambling master!

i've been to vegas twice since i turned 21 (a year ago) and i'm going back in a month.

First make sure you understand any game before you play. Many casinos offer to teach you how to play any game, lessons are usually offered early in the morning. Always join the players club to get the comps, you probably wont get a free stay at the hotel, but you could get a free meal, at the least you will receive discounts on rooms and packages in the future, plus you wont get jack unless you sign up.

Black jack has your best odds. Slots are your worst.

Thats about it for generic casinos, if your going to vegas, i cant help out a lot more

There are a couple Craps bets that are actually even-odds. That is, the house has no advantage. That will be the best you find anywhere, because they certainly won't allow the player to have an advantage.

I think Blackjack is my favorite, probably because I understand it the best. But it's a very slow net result.

You, of course, could play roulette and put equal amount of money on red and black. At least then you won't lose anything.Disagree. I've never found a single-zero roulette wheel in Vegas, but even with only a single-zero wheel, betting on both is still not a safe bet. Roulette may actually be the game with the worst odds, (especially double-zero) but it looks good because of the high payouts. Stay away from Roulette, at least for more than 10 minutes. (IMO)

Remember to use your little card at table games, too. When I signed up for the "Club" at the Excalibur, it was actually a sign-up for also the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus and a couple others I didn't know. They also gave me little hint cards for Blackjack, Roulette and Craps.

Just watch the Travel Channel for a week. They're always running shows on "Secrets of Vegas" or "Gamblers' Secrets" or whatever.

I just realized you didn't say Vegas, but most of it still applies... :dunno:

I should point out that there is a casino about a quarter mile from my condo. http://www.victories-casino.com/map.html Its not the size of the Vagas ones (by any stretch of the imagination). I only go there a few times a year but I see the "noobs" losing their money left and right.

Make sure you take advantage of any freebies they give. Just avoid the drinking (alcohol) while playing. You drink - you lose faster.

Basically all I will do is just take $100 out and when that is gone I'm done and if I win I will keep going except for the but I will if I keep winning then start losing will stop at $100 so I'll still be even. And I know I am deff staying away from craps a roulette.

In vegas there is. They want you to loose your inhabitions. I started out one night with $100. I went up to the bar to play video blackjack (cause you can drink free and faster) I made friends with the bar tender, andway i was doing great, i was up about $500, well after two hours of straight drinkingand drinking a LOT i lost all $600. Its very hard to play black jack well when drunk.

I was so drunk the MGM security escourted me back to my room. Nice folks.
