Do all Z3s with hard-tops also have a soft-top?

I'm seeing ads for Z3's with hard-tops, and just curious if they necessarily also have a soft top, or whether some may have been purchased with just a hard-top. Also, if I were to buy a hard-top for a Z3 that didn't come with one, how much should I expect to pay? The BMW dealer I just spoke to said $2300 for the hard-top and another $300 for an installation kit. Is that reasonable? Am I going to be able to install it myself - or will I have to pay another few hundred for them to do that for me as well? Any cheaper places for them - I'll looking at 97 to 99 year models.

All Z3 Roadsters have soft tops, the hard tops are removable. The Coupes have a fixed roof. The price your dealer quoted is right on the mark for what I paid in New England. The alignment can be tricky, I opted to have the dealer do it. Check out Roadfly, many there have installed there own. As for cheaper places check out Ebay, but shipping will cost. Good luck, I love mine. Gives me couple of extra months of driving.
