blower motor problems

hi I'm new to the forum and i can tell ya it seems impressive.
blower motor was going out on me I put a new one in and now it only works on high. do you think my bad motor fried the switch or something else. 2002 taurus

It may be the resistor assembly, check your manual for location and check it for burnt out coils. Have you had trouble with the switch itself previously?

didnt have a problem with switch until yesterday right before i changed the motor. motor started going bad a while ago, it would stop working then it you tapped on it it would start. then yesterday morning it would work only on high. put new motor in and it still only worked on high. when i took the old blower out i noticed that it turned reall hard you couldnt spin it at all.
