I'm planning on buying '04 4Runner.

I'm not sure about some of the options: What is the advantage of the 17" wheel vs the 16" wheel if any? Is is the 16" better off-road? Am I missing any important options?

For me, the must-haves are moonroof, the color, v6 engine, and 4wd.

First, check previous posts. There are lots of posts from buyers asking about what to get.

As far as options, I suggest getting the Sport Edition which will come stock with much of what you want and will have Xreas which significantly improves your on-road handling.

Good luck choosing.

Well, i did it. I got the 04 sport edition. man is this car efing awesome. I got a couple of extras in it.

Upgraded stereo
Alarm
Upgraded rear view mirror
Wheel locks
Diamond glass thing
Hood protector
In addition i got it with the option b package which has all those extra options in it.
Also, the cargo netting, first aid kit, and i am sure some other stuff

The sticker price for the lease was 35100 and with 2500 the payments for 39 months included tax and no deposit was 370. Which is the exact amount that i am paying now for my piece of isht xterra.

Wish me luck, and i will keep you updated with any news on the truck

I am leasing mine, for 370 a month with 2500 down. Loaded with everything with the exception of the v8 leather and navigation. The sticker was almost 36000. Not to mention that i brought that price to like 4 or 5 dealers and everyone one of them said that if you can get it take it. Also one of my friends is a salesmen for them and he couldn't beat that price. pretty stoked about it

oh, and the 370 is in cluding the sales tax and all the extra options that i got.

For those of you that are getting the auto dimming mirror...is this really a toyota option. I live in virginia, and i called the parts department for my 04 4runner looking for the auto dimming mirror with compass, and they dont see this part. They told me it maybe available in some regions but not all. On the toyota.com page for the 4runner options, the mirror is listed there. I was wondering if anyone knew if that part is actually a toyota made part, or if the dealers use an aftermarket mirror. Ive found a few on the internet as an aftermarket part labeled as a toyota part. Ive also found that they label this mirror as a toyota part, and an aftermarket part on the same website. Does anyone have a part number or any information at all?
