Grrr Electrical Problems

Lately I have taken out the transmission to change the flywheel and installed a new dash / bezel.
In the process of the transmission work my entire left set of gauges (temperature, oil pressure, battery power) stopped working. Also, at the same time, I had a problem with my Headlight switch. When I pull it out and have no dash lights on, they work fine. However, when I turn it to turn on the dash lights, the loud beeping noise (you know, the one that turns on whenever you left your lights on and the car is off) turns on and won't go away!! If I have to drive at night that noise is constant and anoying.
Any suggestions or references to another site?
