The muffler will have to be welded on. Duel tipped exhausts are gay. It wont fit in the cutout in the bumper for the exhaust. Just get a can design.

Can design is just one single round exhaust tip. Like this:http://www.greddy.com/prodimages/Evo2on.jpg

As far as I know, there are no mufflers that just bolt on, or clamp on. It would have to be welded.

I like the look its not, ricer looking. How does it sound? I'm looking for something that puts out more sound, but want some performance out of it too, not just sound.

nice lookin Evo system rulez

:) I knew you'd like it

The Greddy Evo sounds awesome to me. It is very deep and very far from raspy.

As far as performance goes, you wont get anything from just a muffler. You'll have to get the whole catback system for that.

I've got a duel pipe on my 2003 Eclipse. There were some minor cuts made to the bumper to fit it in, but nothing major. You don't really notice the cuts unless you get on your hands and knees and look closely at it. So what you can't see/don't know is there won't hurt ya =P

I haven't seen any bolt on mufflers. They are all welded on usually. And a lot of muffler shops will usually hook you up with a decent price for install if you buy the muffler from them. If you don't know how to weld, it's worth it. =)

There are no bolt on mufflers. The must be welded.

If I'm not mistaking here, I believe that the Magnaflow exhausts for the 3rd gen eclpises are bolt ons. I know my brother got one of those put on his car from the dealership, got it for about 250$ can...dont know how cheap u guys can find em in the States.

The catback exhausts are bolt-ons, but, if I remember correctly, the Magnaflow muflers are only weld on.

Regardless, even if there is a universal bolt on muffler, there are no bolts to take off the stock one. It has ot be cut off, therefore, there is nothing to bolt it to. You would have to sleeve it on the exhaust pipe, which isnt the best idea, and probably wouldnt work anyway.

Do it right. Weld it on.

The Magnaflow mufflers arent exactly a perfect switch for the stock muffler. I agree that its better to weld on the muffler, but the Magnaflow exhausts can be bolted on, all it requires are wider sockets to be drilled in. Either that or theres a difference in the models, my bro got an RS, maybe its different for a GT?

but the Magnaflow exhausts can be bolted on,

Yes, the exhaust system, as in catback, not the muffler alone. Not for the GT anyway.

all it requires are wider sockets to be drilled in.

You mean bolts right?

Yea sorry I meant bolts, I must have been distracted when i read this whole thread. There was a misunderstanding, I didnt know he was looking for just the muffler. No I dont even think that there are any bolt on universal mufflers out there just as yet. Anyways this thread seems to have died, no bolt on mufflers, get the whole system bolted or weld it on, sorry but yuo have no other choice.

Pesonally i would just spend the extra $$$ to go with a complete Cat-back set up. If will not only give you a great sound but some performance as well. I just ordered the GReddy Evo2 for my 02 GT. and you can just bolt it on where your factory one is.

I'd rather spend performance money on a 2nd gen DSM rather than the newer ones. They look great but dont perform as well as the 2nd gens, i cant wait until i get mine (95 Tsi Awd). The only downside to the car I'm getting, it's in the maroon colour :(. Ah Well, great car either way

Id say anything, LOL. Its just that mitsu took away the turbo and awd options for the 3rd gen, which kinda disappointed me, because their going for more looks then power. Don't get me wrong I like the 3rd gens, just that I love the 2nd. Although it would be nice to see a 2nd gen gsx vs a 3rd gen gt.

what is the stock horsepower on the 2nd gen gsx vs. 3rd gen gt?? i thought they were almost the same?

No the 3rd gen eclipse gt have like 200Hp and 205ft-lbs of torque whereas the 2nd gen eclipse/talon gsx/tsi turbo awd have 210HP and 214ft-lbs of torque. Its a bit of difference but let's not forget that the gsx/tsi turbo awd have...well...awd which gives them a better start off the line. But the 3rd gen gts has the same amount of HP as the 2nd gen gsx, just not as much torque. Which is why I'd like to see these 2 cars go at it stock vs stock and see how it turns out.
