The car has around 12X,XXX miles on it. It has the smaller 305ci 5.0L engine. Very little rust on the car other than a little right near drivers side rear lower fender on both the front and rear. Again the rust is very minor and appears to be easily fixable. This is the only visible areas of any amount of rust.
The rear seats are removed and so are the interior of both rear passenger doors. The mechanical guts are in there though so the door locks and power windows still work, just no vinyl covering.
I got to hear the car idle and rev up a bit and it sounded very healthy. I have not had the chance to test drive it yet or have it looked over by a mechanic, but it seems like a good car thus far. Other than the slight bit of rust and balding tires it seems pretty nice.
Any problem areas I should check for? What about the engine...how fast is it...all the sites for info about 9C1's are about the LT1. What is the 1/4 and 0-60 time of the 305 caprice? What does this car pull on the skid pad? Overall what do you think of the car for the price they are asking?
Thanks in Advance :)

Good price for what the car is. Don't expect it to be fast. Its going to be slow, as the car is HEAVY. But, being an owner of an old caprice cruiser (mine is a 95 with an LT1), they are fun cars and great drivers.
I may have a 95 LT1 car for sale if you want something a tad more ballsy. Lemme know.

All depends on the price...this isnt going to be a permanent car for me since I would like a smaller turbo 4 cylinder rather than a v8...but this could be a fun car to modify to look more cop car-like while looking for something else.
I also live in maine so distance is a concern to some degree...

Yeah, there are some simple mods to be done to those cars... It's fun to work on them, because there is so much room under the hood. Good learning experience.
Where in Maine do you live. My parents live up there and I used to for 18 years.
