Muffled Horn... Help!

I have a problem with the low-pitch (or whichever horn the standard alarm uses) horn on my 1999 Ford Taurus. It all of the sudden sounds very muffled and not nearly as loud as before. The high-pitch horn sounds fine, but the one the alarm uses to indicate the enagaged and disengaged status sounds muted. The only thing I can think of that could be the problem is water. I drove my car in heavy rain and there was substantial flooding that I had to drive through. Perhaps water got into the horn and now it is sounding with water in it, making the muffled sound?
Any ideas are appreciated.

or unbolt the horn and see if you can shake some water out of it. Usually you can't take them apart but you can check.

I fixed my horn this morning. All I needed to do was lay on the horn for about a minute. The water must have blown out because now it sounds fine. Easy fix, I should have thought of that days ago.

Figuring I just spent about $380 on a break job and some other repairs, I needed to save a few bucks.
